A fashion trend that is in full force at the moment is anything made out of crochet and is therefore the perfect reason to learn how to crochet for yourself. This calming hobby is not only affordable but allows for you to make your own clothes and is therefore also more sustainable for the environment.

With the internet nowadays everything is so accessible and there are thousands of tutorials for beginners to follow on platforms like YouTube and TikTok. I would recommend if you are just starting out to spend the first few days getting familiar with different type of stitches as this will make everything a lot easier for you.

Above I have featured my most recent crochet project – to make a bikini for my holiday. I was inspired by a bikini that I had seen from the Australian brand ‘It’s Cool Now’. The bikini I liked was completely out of my budget and I therefore crocheted a similar one that cost me a fraction of the price.

They are all beautiful items for summer and are another way to prevent contributing to fast fashion and supporting unethical working conditions that some brands support.
